Hello, I am the founder and CEO of Sexton Design Graphic Services. SD has been able to help a wide variety of businesses, people, and churches for over thirteen years now. Designing things is an inborn talent I have always had, so I can do it well and quick. I usually can do it a little more affordable than the secular marketing companies.
I did my first cover of a published book when I was seventeen, and it hasn't stooped since. I went to the now converged San Diego Institute of Layout and Design back in '86. From that, after many worked and reworked proposals, I finally got in to do comic style art for two of the top companies back in the 80's and two popular characters that every household knows.
Following that, I co-established my own independent comic company, Vesper Effect, and published several titles, including White-out Event, which sold out completely in one week. I stayed with the comic artist roll for about three years, where I met and interacted with a lot of the industry greats; artists, inkers, editors, and writers. We were invited to many conventions of the same sort and got to travel to some great places.
Over the course of the next few years, I established several traditional artistic endeavors; painting on the sides of buildings, carousels, motor-cycle gas tanks, hippie-vans, and even street corner caricature sketching. I had three gallery shows and often touched base with my Cherokee heritage by producing a variety of Native American art, jewelry, and crafts that all sold well. I was a stage/advertising/logo designer for an outdoor venue for one summer, Songbird Center, and met some rather interesting individuals in that.
Among other things, I have been blessed to be the cover artist of ten published books, many websites, over 6,000 logos, CD and DVD art, Sci-fi covers and paraphernalia, movie ads and posters, newspaper paste-up and graphics, and so much more! I was fortunate to be the editor and designer of three international newsletters, including my own E-zine, which is being revamped and redesigned to reach a larger audience sometime in the near future when I can get to it. I even had the opportunity to do a five part series of business success in design speeches to an entire art class of over 2,500 students of a well known state college for a few months.
Through my adventures, I got to reach many of the goals and dreams I had while growing up, which I am grateful for. You never know where life can take you! Never give up your dreams, your time could be right around the corner!
